In her first exhibition at the gallery, celebrated garden designer Isabel Bannerman has produced an illuminating series of large scale photographs of plants that explore the architectural and ‘engineered’ aspects of the plant kingdom - so important to her own design process. With the extraordinary definition of the ‘macro,’ large format process she uses, Bannerman draws the viewer, ‘Alice – like’ into a mysterious world of what is often only a tiny fragment of the plant.
‘A life designing gardens, growing plants and working outdoors meshes entirely with the quest for extraordinary plant material and the work in the dark studio.’ Isabel Bannerman 2011
